This Sunday's game--Packers vs. Cowboys (at AT&T Stadium)--is the most significant one historically. Since 1960, the teams have met a total of 31 times in both regular and postseason play, but recent history shows that Dallas has an edge. The opposing quarterbacks, Aaron Rodgers and Tony Romo, outperformed most of the quarterbacks in the league. There was also the infamous Ice Bowl of 1967, the championship game where it was 13 degrees below zero. The Packers won that game, 21-17. Future Hall of Famers who played in the game included Tex Schramm, Tom Landry, Bart Starr, and Forest Gregg. The coach, of course, was Vince Lombardi.
Party Idea of the Day: I've found two today. First, this inflatable goal posts cooler keeps your beverages ice cold. You can find this on several online sites, including Amazon.
Second, I love the idea of a snack stadium. Head over to Supersized Meals for some great examples. This is my personal favorite:
Super Bowl Fun Fact of the Day: The Browns, Lions, Jaguars, and Texans are the only teams to never appear in a Super Bowl.
Today's birthdays include: Jenny Lewis (39), Sean Paul(!) (42), Jeff Abercrombie (46), R. Kelly (48), David Bowie (68), Robby Krieger (69), Anthony Gourdine (74), Bob Eubanks (77), Shirley Bassey (78), Charles Osgood (82), Ron Moody (91), and Larry Storch (92).
Holidaze: Relax in the tub since it's National Bubble Bath Day! Ah, the good old days of soaking with Mr. Bubble, who's been bringing joy to our bathtubs for over 50 years. It's also National English-Toffee Day (not one of my favorite candies), as well as National JoyGerm Day. What's that, you ask? This is a day to remind people to spread joy and positive vibes all around.
Louis C.K. was hilarious as always, complete with comic impressions galore. To show support for the tragedy at Charlie Hebdo, he wore a handmade t-shirt with the magazine's name. Gotta love him.
That's all for today. Stay warm!
Have a PRINTASTIC day!
Kathy
