Wedding Countdown--Invitations and Wedding Rings

Good afternoon . . . it's a relatively nice day for mid-January in NYC. And it's almost Friday. Can't complain here. We continue our discussion of weddings with two very important items--invitations and wedding bands.

My favorite thing about planning our wedding was ordering the invitations. I am a big fan of typography and paper and wanted a very particular look. In those days, we went to a shop, looked through a huge book, and selected a few possibilities. While that option is still available, the Internet has made it possible for us to choose from even more options, Invitations should be planned around your theme, color, and season. Two styles that I love are the chalkboard art and timeline-themed invitations. Check out this vintage-vaudeville chalkboard-themed invitation by My Big Day Designs on Etsy.

Here's a cool timeline-themed invitation by Invites for All on Etsy. This invitation is an instant digital download.

This unique photo invitation, from Pear Tree, is called "Tied Up in Love."

Many online stores, such as Wedding Paper Divas, will send free samples.

Finally, at our shop, we can turn crossword puzzles, word searches, sudoku, cryptograms, and more into memorable invitations. We will add photos, colors, and clip art to match your wedding theme. Please either contact us at printasticgames@gmail.com or convo us at Etsy to request a custom order.

Yellow gold or platinum? Plain band or one encrusted with diamonds? Wedding rings play a major role in the big day. Whether you order from Overstock.com or go upscale at Tiffany & Co., this is a very important decision the couple will make. For those in the NYC area, you can't go wrong with the Diamond District. Both engagement and wedding rings are sold at wholesale prices and are nearly flawless. For those who have engagement rings, you would want a band that would stack perfectly underneath it. Check out tips for buying wedding bands at The Knot. For those who are looking for something different, I found this at the Etsy shop Minter & Richter.

Now onto Listmania:

Party Idea of the Day: We are still in Super Bowl mode since Round 3 of the playoffs is just three days away. From Spaceships and Laserbeams, I love these personalized goalposts. I believe they were decorated for a football-themed party, but you can adorn them with your favorite team colors for Super Sunday.

Ideas for Super Bowl Party Decorations

Super Bowl Fun Fact of the Day: It's all about the dip. According to Supervalu Snack Down  Survey, nearly 32% will use some sort of dip with their chips, ranging from salsa to homemade spinach dips. More tortilla chips are sold on this day than any other.

Today's birthdays: Skrillex (27), Victor Rasuk (30), Pitbull (34), Eddie Cahill (37), Regina King (44), Lisa Lisa (48), James Nesbitt (50), Mario Van Peebles (58), Andrea Martin (68), and Margaret O'Brien (77).

Holidaze: Today is National Hat Day! What's the craziest hat you've ever owned? The turkey hat in the picture below is hilarious. I tend stay away from wearing hats to avoid "hat hair." They also don't look good on me. However, with the past few winters being so harsh, I broke down and bough a couple. . . . It's also Strawberry Ice Cream Day, which is not one of my favorite flavors. I did learn that it was first served back in 1813, at the inauguration of James Madison.

The 87th Annual Academy Awards were announced this morning. That means only one thing . . . shop updates! Oscar Night Games will be posted on the site very soon. Tune in on Sunday, February 22nd on ABC.

Stay tuned for our first Freebie Friday tomorrow!

Have a Printastic Day!
